Ultra LUXE & elegant dress maker ball gown bodice. Labelled “Mme. Carolyn, NY”. This is original and has the old shawl the dress maker used very unique. Embroidered canton shawl as the base fabric using the fringe as the top decorative edge super fluffy silk knife pleat chiffon under the fringe and at the cap sleeves. Lined in taffeta and fully stayed. In pleating ruffles pretty good antique uncleaned tiny condition.
Chest 30”, waist 20”.
On the back where you use the hook and eyes the silk is coming apart needs backing
Goes on one shoulder falls to the side of the other. Or it can be worn both sides up or down. The pleating is in really nice condition.One of the best bodices I've found without a doubt. From a Paris Couture Collection
It was actually big on my model and that never usually happen with these bodices.
